IGA Australia has come to the rescue to Australian beekeepers by offering them an outlet to sell Local Australian honey.
From Albany in WA to Ballina NSW beekeepers and consumers are rejoicing over IGAs choice to turn their back on imported honey and showcase local honey.
Shelly Bowden from SKK. Great southern Unprocessed honey has praised IGA for allowing her to educate consumers about the benefits of unprocessed honey and the fact it candies.
“I am having great sales through IGA and they have never questioned my pricing“
Rob Blair-Hickmain from Ballina Honey has been given centre stage at his local IGA

“Being in a tourist town this has been a delight for tourists and amazing for business. We are grateful for the local shelf space, and IGA has become a large and important part of our business.”
At last there is a supermarket supporting local producers. Unlike Coles and Woolworths that seem intent on selling imported produce from China and giving priority shelf space to honey importing corporations.
