Driven by greed German pharmaceutical and chemical giant Bayer says it will buy U.S. seed seller Monsanto for $66 billion in an all-cash deal that will create the world's largest supplier of GMO seeds and bee killing chemicals. Bayer is determined to control the global food market. Ironically Germany has banned both roundup for being carcinogenic and Neonicotinoids for killing bees. Somehow other countries are still allowing this company to continue to poison bees and people around the world. The takeover offer, which Monsanto has accepted, is $4 billion more than Bayer had initially offered. Monsanto is lots of things that people hate: genetically modified food; patents on seeds; lawsuits against farmers for saving and replanting those seeds; and corporate influence over government food policy. As cancer rates surge and pollinators are collapsing globally it is urged global citizens boycott both Roundup and Confidor. How this marriage works is Bayer creates a systematic insecticide that is absorbed by plants that make the plant poison lethal to insects. Nearly all broad acre seeds are coated in Neonicotinoids. The seeds are also mutated to with stand Roundup. The whole crop after germination is saturated with the weed killer. The mutated food survives and is harvested. These seeds are called Roundup ready GMO seeds. A massive crop can be run by very few employees. It's more like chemistry than farming. Unfortunately GMO foods do not have to be labeled in Australia. Try to only buy food that is grown locally without chemicals. The solution is so beautiful and suggested by the United Nations. Small scale localised farming. If community's can start growing their own food and sharing we can avoid feeding the disease of greed. Bees don't respond well to greed. #savethebees #beethecure Please share sharing will save the bees.
