Here is a simple example of how you can write Ohio Legislators on this issue:
Dear Mr./Ms./Representative/Senator__name__;
My name is _____, and I believe that trauma informing all Family Courts in Ohio for FREE with classes through THE Ohio Department of Mental Heath and Drug Addiction will not only provide better resources for endangered families but also preserve families that are desperately trying to stay together.
An example of a family not properly preserved that was broken apart senselessly after a single mother desperately attempted to protect and preserve her family after rape and molestation of her children can be found in CASE NO. 2009JCV01389 and CASE NO. 2013 DR 1072. This mother fought and won her battles with addiction, became an active member of her community helping children and families and lost 2/4 of her children in false drug allegations.
The court in these cases did not perform any drug tests and refused to review or recognize the forensic interviews of the children and gave the children to the person that had one of the children when they were initially sexually battered as well as the person complicit to the mothers own childhood sexual battery.
This mother did everything to care and protect her children and in the end was completely alienated from them while the courts could only see her as the previously drug addicted person that she was.
This cannot be allowed in our family legal systems any longer! In a day-and-age when the life of unborn children are being preserved, it is time to also take action and preserve family units in their greatest times of need by trauma informing our adjudicators and recognizing Parental Alienation as a form of child abuse.
