Hello all! Thank you for your patience while we fought for this. There has been a lot of back & forth between TX DOT and the City of Fort Worth. Here is where we are as of today (2/24/25): Crowley Rd is considered a state highway. This makes things more difficult as TX DOT HAS to be involved in anything that is done on this roadway. We cannot do a stop light due to the footage between the school and each of the lights on either side (Sycamore School Rd & Altamesa). We have discussed a zone or flashing lights. However, this then falls into who will pay? State funds or City funds? It is a state highway but also falls within the City. The other issue is that when HPA was opened, it stated "no walkers". Of course with the growth of the school that has changed. The traffic surveys are not necessarily being done at the times we need them. They will come at 10am vs the 7am or 3pm times we need it.
I will be assisting in speaking on the schools behalf this Thursday at the meeting with Councilman Nettles. He is up for reelection and it seems this is on his radar. Childcare will be provided as will food. Please sign up for attending if you can. If you cannot and would like anything addresses, please email me.
Also: if ANYONE has any information or contact of the parent(s) involved in the accident on Crowley Rd by the apartments back in October 2024, please reach out to me. I would like that accident report to accompany this.
Thank you for your patience and for supporting this cause! We will get this done!
