Leeds Councillor Matt Robinson has proactively been in touch, which is positive. We're setting up a meeting onsite with councillors and police to discuss the situation and get some actions taken.
I'm keen they look at a co-ordinated road safety approach, so will discuss traffic all the way through the village, plus the increasingly problematic Hook Moor junction.
Matt's helpful comments in email reply ahead of a meeting were:
"There are a few matters that I am expecting to be resolved this summer e.g. the build out’s in the centre of Aberford. But I agree there’s more to be done from SIDs, data sharing on speeding, enforcement (mobile and even a permanent camera). With Aberford being a unofficial ‘diversion’ route when so many accident happen on the A1 I am now of a mind that some form of permanent enforcement (speed camera of otherwise) is the answer and even some forms of ANPR cameras would be helpful as deterrent but also from a community safety perspective (and a speeder who doesn’t know the area can’t tell the difference)."
