An op-ed I wrote for Nola.com/Times Picayune was published last week. The dominance of the automobile in the French Quarter must shift. Its infrastructure needs to prioritize pedestrians and cyclist, while limiting motor vehicle access to its historic thoroughfares. 

As we saw vividly recently, Vehicles are weapons. Yet, when they injure and kill, they’re given a pass most of the time. The only real way to effect the rampant lawlessness in the streets of New Orleans is to transform its infrastructure. We need to truly make it public and accessible for all road users to share.
