Please help us by sharing in any way you can. Together we can stand together against the system.

I am deeply concerned about the current use of speed cameras by police forces. It feels like these devices, originally intended to deter speeding and enhance road safety, are now being used as a means to generate revenue rather than fulfill their original purpose. The tactics employed often involve hiding in unsuspecting areas and catching drivers off guard.

The issue at hand is not about condoning speeding or reckless driving; it's about ensuring that the measures taken to enforce traffic laws are fair and transparent. In light of this, I propose that whenever a speed camera is set up, there should be an obligation to put up a removable sign stating "police detection active" 100-500 yards outside of their detection area in all directions.

According to the National Motorists Association (NMA), speed cameras can indeed reduce excessive speeding; however, they also argue that visible enforcement methods have been shown to be more effective at managing speeds over time. This suggests that warning signs could actually increase the effectiveness of speed cameras in deterring dangerous driving behaviors.

It's time we shift our focus back towards ensuring road safety rather than capitalizing on unsuspecting motorists. Let's make our roads safer while maintaining fairness and transparency in law enforcement practices. Please sign this petition urging local authorities to implement mandatory warning signs for active speed cameras.
