This is critical to the future of council and state legislation on the housing crisis. People don't see the matter at hand, they argue about petty things rather then the fact that families are facing homelessness and they are trying their best to house themselves with dignity.

The government keeps talking about wanting to address the serious housing crisis, and I understand that people don't want the only solution to be caravans or portable dwellings. But that's the ideal future where we all somehow can afford houses, this is the now where people can't afford houses and let alone rent them. This whole council area is facing a major lack of single family homes, we couldn't even buy or rent here if we wanted to.

Keep talking to your local members, the petition continues and we need to keep the local members aware that they need to keep working on temporary solutions that don't kick people out of the Yarra Ranges.
