I am overwhelmed with immense gratitude.
There are no words adequate enough to express what this means to me, so I will simply say thank you. From the bottom of a heart that has been carrying this grief for over eight years.
When I started this petition, I did it for Dario; my husband, my person for 34 years. A man who was deeply loved by many, and very well known for the kindness and warmth he extended to everyone... even complete strangers.
He died of Septic Shock on July 30, 2017, the day after our 28th wedding anniversary, from a hospital-acquired Staph A infection that was misdiagnosed as Dressler's Syndrome.
More than two hundred of you have now said this is not acceptable and no one should die because recognition and response to Sepsis varies by hospital, by province, by shift.
Every single signature matters.
Every single one represents a person who understands that 18,000 Canadians die from Sepsis every year, and that that number does not have to be that high.
If you have already signed... again, thank you.
If you have not, please sign and share this petition with one person today. One share. One conversation. One more name added to the fight.
If you would like to follow our journey, join our growing community on Instagram; where we share education, advocacy, and the stories of the lives behind this fight.

For Dario. For Aaron. For Finlay. For Rheanna. For Danny. For Ravinder. For Norma. For Colin Francis. For every life lost to Sepsis and for every family whose world was shattered the day they lost their loved one. You are why this fight exists.
With profound gratitude,
