Jefferson Davis' memorial in New Orleans has emboldened the #heritagehaters in Florida and previously extinguished fires are being re-kindled and new ones have started around the State. Social media has ignited in Hollywood, Orlando and Gainesville as the #heritagehaters are empowered by the "American ISIS" purge in NOLA. And horrifically, this morning, as you may have heard, Gen. Beauregard was purged in another disgrace to the American History and Veterans. You think the were inspired then? They will be on fire now! We have noticed that left leaning activist groups have unite to hate all things Southern - American. Black Lives Matter, NAACP, homeless, animal rights and LGBT activists, the Green Party and Antifa all have been actively involved in efforts to purge American history relating to the South. Of course we know we are just low hanging fruit in the war on America. The press is getting in the game, too. The Palm Beach Post has highlighted a Confederate monument in Woodlawn Cemetery in West Palm Beach - seemingly taunting locals into opposing it (Read Here). The wave of hate is crashing all over Florida. The Orlando monument purge movement, quiet since 2015, has erupted in a surge, with the Orlando Mayor promising just yesterday to MOVE the Annie Coleman Chapter UDC historic monument on Lake Eola to make way for the "Orlando United Day" a day of 'love and kindness' marking the dedication of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Seemingly the haters love everyone - except Southerners who haven't renounced their Confederate heritage. At the Orlando City Council meeting Monday, where Southerners were shocked to see the Mayor's surprising statement, SSH FL Spokesman, David McCallister said moving the Confederate monument to the cemetery was like 'putting it in the closet'. The spectacles continue to show that every Communist - Marxist - Soros funded group is united against the South...they know - like "Granny Clampett said WE are "the Americans". Without a Statewide protection law, our War memorials are an endangered species - subject to the whims of 'politicians'. To protect them, we will have to gird ourselves for battle hither, thither and yon and try to save them one by one. Manpower and material will be needed. We must re-double our efforts. Southerners are the last line of defense in protecting America and our Monuments are the battleground. A war chest MUST be raised - and quickly if we will be able to have the rapid response necessary to combat the Orlando purge. Last summer we estimated that with $20K we would be able to get the bill passed, and fight miscellaneous battles including the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame. But we haven't raised close to that, and so now we have to re-group. SSH FL Directors have developed a budget that has been circulated to other Southern Heritage groups to ask them to partner in combating the attack in Orlando and to finish the fight in Gainesville. The MINIMUM we expect will be needed will be $15K but as much as $20K - by this weekend (Sunday, May 21st). To date, between SSH FL Members, supporters and some other southern heritage groups we have reached $1.7K or 11% of our MINIMUM goal. This is comprehensive plan, that does not rely completely on any one strategy. As you know, in the past, just speaking to at city/county meetings nor protests, or even lawsuits alone, are simply not enough. What is your heritage worth to you?
