Walters is not only a detriment to Oklahoma schools, but his extreme rhetoric is actively harming students. In addition to the misuse of federal funds to bolster Oklahoma students, he has been fighting penalties imposed for improper filing of campaign fundraising, using state taxpayer dollars to make advertisements that frame Oklahoma's teachers as terrorists, traveling on Oklahomans' dime to give speeches to far rights groups such as Mom's for Liberty, attempting to whitewash history curriculum, failing to file for federal funds, and his most recent hyperfocus on pornography (and that isn't even all, folks) he is not improving the state of education.
Rules proposed this week call for the dismantling of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in k-12 schools. This is a transparent attempt to actively worsen the education and experience of minority students. Kids that are in the minority, no matter if it is race, or gender, or sexuality, deserve to receive the best education that we can give them. Kids that are in the minority deserve love and respect.
Ryan Walters should be impeached before he further damages our public school systems beyond repair. Let state legislators know that we support the impeachment investigation of Walters and stand with all of Oklahoma's kids.
