Citizens of Illinois, 

This petition is aimed at urging Illinois state lawmakers to SAVE the Quad Cities and Clinton nuclear power stations in Cordova and Clinton Illinois in order to save Illinois jobs and clean, pollution-free energy. 

Combined, the Quad Cities and Clinton nuclear power stations directly support 1,293 high paying jobs and indirectly support an additional 5,007 jobs in the surrounding communities!

In total, nuclear power in Illinois has an economic impact of  $9 billion annually, the Quad Cities nuclear power station provides $1.7 billion while the Clinton nuclear power station provides $700 million of that total. 

Environmental protection and public health in Illinois is very important. The Clinton and Quad Cities nuclear power stations have a huge POSITIVE impact on environmental and public health. 

In fact, 90% of Illinois's carbon-free energy is produced by nuclear power plants and Illinois ranks #1 in the nation for clean, carbon-free energy. 

Together, these stations's provide enough clean, pollution-free power for 2.5 MILLION homes. The clean, pollution-free power generated at these plants is equivalent to REMOVING 3.5 MILLION CARS from the road.
