chris henzler started this petition to I got games IGG and

In 2013 ,7,231 backers pledged $293,184 on kickstarter for a game called TUG. It was a game that was inspired and supported by many minecraft mods like feed the beast, The Aether, and Thaumcraft and made by Nerd Kingdom inc. The game suffured from many finanacial problems, and even with the help from the yogscast with giving their backers free keys for free advertisement, it was not enough to help Nerd Kingdom finishing it.

In 2015, Nerd Kingdom was invested by and then bought by IGG, makers of the popular mobile game castle clash, and set out to remake TUG and put it free to play game that would be called Tugv2.0.  This would cause a conflict of interested, because they were making a whole new game, and would abandon the first verison of the game on steam completely.

In 2017, the game dubbed, TUGv2, was almost completed, but came at a sudden hault right after co creator INO(peter salinas) was forced to step down, and at the end of 2017 nearly 95%  of the tech team was laid off.In the begining of 2018 Nerd kingdom's new magamagent  shadowed not only backers, but the entire community and would censor anyone by either bans, or NDAs from letting the community know what really was going on. Now in 2019,  we learned after a full year of silence, Nerd Kingdom was closed down with the help of one IGG board member, as California secretary of state reports  a  wind up and dissolve of the company in may 2018 and no one even noticed.

It has been 6 years since the game has been backed, and that money that backers gave to help fund the game is gone, but TOS states despite this backer tier rewards must be fulfilled as they enter a contract between the backer and creator and are subject to legal action:  https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use Despite this, many rewards have not been fulfilled, and some have donated up from 1K -5K and those rewards have remained unfulfilled since the beginning.  The ones who have come back to support us unofficially, feel as if IGG has thrown them and artists under the bus for what is simply refusing to be accountable for their actions in the past 3 years that seems to have amounted to nothing.

The remaining backers who have helped us make it so far, understand to a point they will never get their money back. Instead, we want to  the copyright owners IGG who while have closed down the company, still own the rights to the assets and games, to do the following:

  • release the source code of TUG and TUGv2  to the backers and make it open source for anyone to work on, for whatever reason
  •  release former Nerd Kingdom developers from their NDAs contracts so that they can speak out and not be afraid of being sued by talking or discussing it with the community
  • renounce any claim IGG and other's have on TUG and any Nerd Kingdom game,so anyone can use it for any purpose.

The whole point of the petition is to give back the voices of not only the backers, but the developers that spent 6 YEARS on the game TUG, and not been able to share with the players it was created for. The most are the backers, who together have backed the project, and have come out of all this with broken promises, and 6 years of waiting for a game that in the end, was taken over by a company who cares for nothing more than gaming trends and microtransactions. If it was released, it would be for free and not worked on for profit.

by signing this, you can help us get them to see this, and hopefully, with enough signatures, they can prove us wrong by giving the backers the game that belongs to them, and the devs that worked on it

If you skipped this entirely, the only thing you need to know before signing this  is that this  will help backers gain back control of a game that was always meant to be community built, and we stand by this idea that TUG belongs to the backers and players of the community, not to a company that will hold onto it for years and not do anything about it

please if you care about gamers, you will support us, all the backers and players want is a game they were promised, or at the very least the ability to finish it!
