Parents and students for Lowell
Nov 28, 2017
The police and fire department think the high school isn't safe for students. Elevator doesn't work, can't accommodate a gurney, fire alarms are in disrepair and fire doors don't work properly. The police don't like having so many access doors. The nurses feel they can't access multiple buildings in an efficient manner. They also fear the possibility of accessing portable classrooms in a timely manner if the downtown option is an option. Teachers have resigned, or are prepared to resign, because of the push to keep the school downtown. The city's representatives need to know how much is at risk by blocking the new school at Cawley. Please make sure to contact our representatives, and let them know what is at stake here. We can't let one neighborhood determine the fate of our kids.
