~ Hi Joanne, the work that you are doing is fantastic - you're a very brave lady and your dad would be so very proud of you. You will inspire the 'good' doctors and nurses to fight for what the majority believe is 'something that we were born to do, that it is a vocation'. The ethos of beneficence, non-maleficence and the Hippocratic Oath are the Professional Codes of Conduct to which, I hope most of us adhere and I personally am ashamed of the abhorrent care that your lovely dad received. Caring is a basic human trait, or it should be - we need to fight for our NHS and ensure that there are enough nurses and doctors, medical equipment, decent food, linen - which would enable our patients to have dignity, be free from pain and above all they need to feel special and that they matter, not just to our families, but because we really do care. I have worked with many many nurses and doctors and there have been staff who I have been shocked by and believe me, staff will whistle blow, but they themselves are often subjected to bullying. It is people like you Joanne that will make this happen ~ Please share the petition with friends ~Every one must be given the chance to sign it ~ Change not Blame ~
