During the teenage years, starting at 13, much important development happens. This development makes those who are going through these events especially vulnerable to emotional issues. This is especially strong in gifted individuals who often have heightened emotions and lack a support group at home. Yunasa is a wonderful way to help those who are experiencing these events deal with them. It provides a safe space to share what is going on and seek solutions. It provides a support group, and, most importantly provides a group of peers as to allow campers to experience what it is like to have friends often for the first time. As such, it is important that as many gifted individuals as possible attend the camp for as long as possible to maximize the benefit. Raising the age limit does not just help those who are now able to continue attending to the camp -- it also helps those who are then able to receive advice from those older campers as well. Therefore, it makes the camp stronger both as a whole and individually in the form of the support it can provide to each and every camper. Even if the camp may end up growing slightly larger, it will also grow more intimate. Older campers can also help out during the camp in ways such as setting up decorations, helping to clean up, and helping to organize people and items. To prevent there being a huge influx of new 16 and 17 year old campers, campers aged 16+ must to have attended yunasa at leas one to two years prior before being re-admitted. This insures that the older campers are already a part of yunasa, and will enhance the experience for everyone.
