Just saw another accident at the intersection last night at 5, the backup it caused at the height of rush hour was atrocious as you can all imagine. Even with police cars parked all around the intersection, people were still stopping the tracks and crossing out of turn. It's so unorganized there's almost no concept of whose turn it even is anymore. I was next to a pickup truck as we approached the stop sign at eastbound 47th, and the driver of the truck pulled into the intersection to make a left turn as soon as he completed his stop at the stop sign. The selfishness I encounter at this intersection on a regular basis never ceases to amaze me. We needed major change decades ago, and the next best time is now.
