In response to petitions filed by Sierra Club, Center for Biological Diversity and others, the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service is considering restoring the ESA protections to gray wolves that were removed by the Trump Administration.

With gray wolves occupying less than 15% of their historic range in the west although abundant suitable habitat is present, wolves are not recovered.
Newly passed laws in Montana and Idaho are intended to reduce wolf populations by 80% and 90% taking us back 100 years to when wolves were driven to near extinction.
Without reinstatement of ESA protections, wolves will be decimated to a fraction of what is needed for recovery.
Economies thrive where wolves are present and protected. Without ESA protection, even Yellowstone's wolves have been killed by hunters and trappers.
