Europeans especially Transylvanian, Baltic, Pyrenees parts of the Alps etc. etc. have lived with wolves for thousands of years. They have managed to develop a respectful relationship and now use guardian dogs to protect the sheep and other life stock..... And it works

It is strictly for

forbidden to kill wolves in these countries!... 

One of the members of our group is from Transylvania and a specialist in guardian dogs. Yet many ranchers are unwilling to cooperate and utilize this means of prevention (seems that this is more about domination and control then about the wolves per se)

my question is why?
