The Los Angeles Animal Care and Control director, Marcia Mayeda, hired known animal abusers as a shelter manager in the Baldwin Park. Pat Claerbout is well known for her horrific treatment of the staff, animals, volunteers, and customers. Her employment was terminated because of this, six months after being hired Baldwin Park Shelter after her pattern of abuse continued. Currently the new shelter manager, Sherri Koenig, also abuses her authority, illegally euthanizes animals, and had a reputation of abusing animals also. 

I am asking that Animal Legal Defense Fund take legal action against the Los Angeles Animal Care and Control, and demand Pat Claerbout be criminally charged with animal abuse, neglect, and face the fullest extent of the law. The employee who was terminated from her her kennel staff position, and been falsely charged criminally with animal abuse by Claerbout; for documenting the dogs being starved under her orders and other animal neglect Claerbout committed. This employee who was a animal lover and fostered so many animals. Her love and compassion for animals is inspiring.. She was known to foster unweaned kittens and wildlife, which would otherwise be euthanized. She is a example of how employees working with animals should be. The false charges against her should be dropped immediately, and reinstated to her position. I also want Marcia Mayeda terminated from her position as Director of Los Angeles Animal Care and Control. The person replacing her be compassionate and a animal lover, and hires staff that shares these values. I also demand Sherri Koenig be terminated from her position as shelter manager at the Baldwin Park Shelter. 

I also demand all adoption events, transferring animals to no kill shelters be fully reinstated. The volunteers and staff be treated with respect and involved in critical decisions. The abuse and neglect that has taken place needs to end at Los Angeles Animal Care and Control. 

I also want to add I have contacted Animal Legal Defense Fund about this situation and was ignored. I feel the only way to have them take action against these animal abusers is to start a petition so the public is aware of what is happening there. Please ALDF help the most vulnerable animals. They deserve to find homes and be treated with love and respect.. I implore you to aid these pets.
