The budget measures passed!

My petition was asking the Government to halve the CGT discount for people with more than one investment property and to scrap negative gearing, to make the Australian dream more accessible particularly for younger generations. By signing the petition, leaving a comment or donating to amplify the message, you have helped make progress towards that goal.
As many of you might know, there is an ongoing Senate inquiry into intergenerational housing inequity, intended with the purpose of solving the problem outlined in its title. I wrote to Senator Pocock, and hundreds of other MPs and Senators, just before Budget, urging them to support our cause. Senator Pocock was one of a handful who replied. But she went further and invited me to meet with her to discuss the petition. And as Chair of the Senate inquiry she invited me to give evidence and represent the views of young people. Last Wednesday I testified in front of the Senate Select Committee on Intergenerational Housing Inequity and tabled your signatures and comments as evidence to the inquiry. I cannot thank you all enough for your support these past months.
