Dear sirs/mesdames,
Re: Peter Zen Guo Pan & Standard Hotel (AHRC file: S2021-05-0056)
Due my deteriorating health conditions, I have been making regular trips between hospitals in Strathmore & Calgary (Rockyview). I am currently at the emergency ward of Strathmore Hospital between treatments, and have an appointment to see my surgeon at Rockyview tomorrow. I have also cancelled the street event which had been planned for Standard next month (October 8, 2022).
Three years ago the village office of Standard, in abusing its authorities under Municipal Act 610, harassed my business and me and illegally put my hotel up for public auction. When AHRC accepted my complaint, the village office, working with my then and former lawyers, together try to force me to accept a totally unfair settlement which it drafted.
In disagreeing with the proposed arrangement, I fired my both of my lawyers, and brought the village office to have a pre-trial hearing. Since I stated ACT 610 at the court, so there the village office no longer to auction my hotel, but then they turned around use this invalid pre-trial judgement to seize land instead.
Somehow, the village office, being in charge of the municipality, failed to consider the damages it caused me by illegally dumpling snow cleared from the streets on my properties for eight long years, ignoring my invoice of $200,000.00, with interest penalty, which has grown to a total of $252,429.39 now.
The illegal removal of the vending machine by the village office also resulted in damages which I could not claim insurance on. I estimate my direct damage to be at least $8,000.00, or $9,528.13 including interests accrued. The total amount which the village office owes to me, through Sunny Investment Group Inc., now totals $262,020.52
Even though the village office of Standard has lost its right to levy taxes on both of my properties taxes since it started its series of mistreatment against my business and me since 2013, I nevertheless continued to contribute property taxes in full to the village, cumulating $44,550.00 as of 2021. Due the continuing mistreatment and discrimination which I have been subject to, I have already filed a complaint with AHRC, along with my claim for outstanding balance owed to me, through Sunny Investment Group Inc., of $252,492.39.
As mentioned before, the village office of Standard does not deserve my property taxes. However, to show good will on behalf of my company and business, I am paying my tax payment for 2022 in-trust pending the resolution on our dispute. I tried to make the payment to AHRC, which has told me that it is not in a position to receive it, I have instead requested my business bank (RBC) to establish an in-trust holding account for village office of Standard (please see the attachment below).
Thank you.
