Here it is!! The PROPOSAL! Enormous props to Phil Galli of Adaptive Track and Field USA for designing it for us! This is what has been submitted to the MHSAA. Our proposal has the potential to take Michigan from one of the last states without provisions for adaptive athletes, to being a leader in the nation! It incorporates best practices and decades worth of experience from other states. It includes input from adaptive athletes and paralympians, coaches and athletic directors. It stresses the importance of competition, and strives for fairness for ALL teams and athletes. We are very proud of this little document, and hope you are, too.
And now, WE NEED YOUR HELP. If you are a resident of Michigan, please talk to your local school's athletic director! Express your support in allowing adaptive athletes to compete in track and field, and encourage them to accept this proposal in the Participating Schools Tournament Information through the MHSAA. Ask your local school to submit this proposal, too! We need state-wide support to make this change! Awareness is key! So, share this petition, like and share our Facebook or Instagram pages, spread the word at the water cooler. Talk about this with your friends and family! Come on, Michigan!! Let's do this for our kids!!
