The ‘I Am’ movement is growing! Spread the word!

It is direct action, unprecedented in the democratic era, by healthcare professionals and health workers, the real custodians of the health of those who seek care in South Africa’s public and private healthcare facilities.

It is an opportunity for them to resist the relegation of their patients’ entitlement to healthcare to below that of public administration or corporate interests.

The Progressive Health Forum, PHF, urges all health workers and professionals to sign up and join the movement, especially those in public service,

- who have had their efforts to get the provincial administrations to do the job expected of them rebuffed and ignored,
- who have had their voices silenced and victimized when, after exhausting the available channels, they spoke up publicly and exposed the dysfunction.
- who have felt compelled to leave the public service out of frustration and the pain of moral injury
- who feel the ethical need to stand up and say, “No more”
