First Gentleman Marlon Reis has once again proven that he just doesn't talk the talk. He is organizing the volunteer effort to help with nonlethal options in Denver parks. This go-round, volunteers will be moving coyote cutouts with the hope the geese will see this as a predator and move elsewhere. No matter what you think about this option, we cannot leave any stone unturned. So join us! Here's the First Gentleman's words and the link to the volunteer application. And please continue to share this petition! Thanks.
Good Day, Friends,
It brings me great joy to share with you that I am working with Denver Parks and Recreation in an effort to enlist volunteers as part of a phased strategy to use non-lethal means of deterring Canada Geese from nesting year-round in Denver’s municipal parks. For this first phase, 20 volunteers working in teams of two will be responsible for setting-up and moving around cutouts of coyotes in six of Denver’s parks.
I am looking to recruit volunteers who are serious about helping Denver’s Canada Geese by preventing future round-ups like those in 2019 and 2020, which resulted in over 2,000 of these much-beloved birds losing their lives. To that end, please make sure to include a statement at the end of the application about why you want to help.
IMPORTANT NOTE: YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH AT 11:59 PM (MST).
Please use the below link to submit your volunteer application.
Thank you for your help, Friends!
