Imagine the happiness of finding out your expecting your first child. Imagine the horror you would feel when within weeks of discovering your pregnancy despite being a law abiding citizen you have people who are employed to help you sniggering as they tell you they will 'have your baby taken away'. Imagine the panic when after meeting the social worker for the first time and being told they had no concerns, you get a report in the post accusing you of being mentally unstable and that your child would need to go on a child protection register. Imagine being bombarded every day to 'stick at your relationship it's lasted longer than most marriages' .... to then have that same relationship used as an excuse to act on a vendetta to have your child removed. Imagine telling the social worker you wanted to end the relationship only to be told 'Birmingham Children's Services can't be seen to be allowing disabled people to be single parents' Imagine a month later after speaking to the social worker in what was meant to be confidence, to have that social worker repeat what you have said to her word for word even including hand gestures you had used to your now ex partner. Imagine asking the social worker outright why she is so against you only for her to laugh at you. Imagine going to a meeting regarding your son, asking the social worker a simple basic question and on the basis of that being banned from all future meetings for 'being verbally abusive'. Imagine having the choice of seeing your son in a council run contact centre for his birthday or nothing at all. Imagine after months of accusations finally passing a parenting assessment....only for children's services to claim it was negative and implore the courts to view it as a negative assessment. Imagine the day before your child's birthday having a social worker knock your door telling you 'we are applying for a placement order tomorrow'. Imagine being told your child is 'very attractive to adopters and that's because you have done such a good job with him' Imagine showing a judge mountains of proof of what you are saying and even more proof of children's services intentional mis leading of the courts....only for that judge to pretend she never saw any of the evidence. Imagine being told 'nobody suspects you of ever harming your son at all but he just can't be with you' Imagine being treated like a common criminal for simply loving your child. Imagine being a parent on the receiving end of a vengeful local authority. Imagine being my son's parents.
