Happy Holidays, merfamily!
We’ve entered the last month of what has been a pretty difficult year. Our hearts go out to everyone, especially those directly impacted by Covid and other events that defined 2020. We’re all in this together.
Siren was cancelled in August, but we were surprised to learn recently just how many of the fans still don’t know that. Comments on Siren’s pages, the cast’s social medias and fan messages and posts asking when it returns proves that. If a large amount of the fans don’t know, our chances of saving Siren are that much less with already disheartening odds.
We can get the word out, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help to do it because the window is almost closed. We’ve talked to many folks in the industry and they’ve all said if the demand isn’t there, no one will be interested in picking it up. So we’re asking everyone that reads this to go out on to social media and SPREAD THE WORD! Use the hashtag #savesiren (it works best on pages and posts set to public and especially on Mermaid Mondays) and share the petition link (www.change.org/renewSiren) Go to Siren’s official pages and let other fans know in the comments, and even ask your family and friends to sign and share. Reach out to the networks and ask them to consider adding Siren to their line ups. Just remember not to spam anyone. We can spread the word without doing that.
It might be a losing battle, and there’s fans that have given up or don’t believe in the cause (don’t let the negativity get you down). But it’s better to try and fail than to fail at trying. Recently Ian Verdun (Xander) said Siren has the best fans in the world. Let’s prove him right once again! Stay motivated, keep being active in the Siren Fans group to show members from the show and network the love is still there, keep posting about the show, streaming episodes and remember—Siren was the number one rated program when it was cancelled. It may have just been a business decision, but we, the fans deserve another season!
