The manager of Lightning Ridge Opal Reserve David Sullivan, met with the NSW Agricultural Minister Dugald Saunders at NSW Parliament last week to highlight the need for urgent government funding for Hudson Pear. Dedicated positions to combat Hudson Pear, and the re-instatement of the free chemical program for landholders that ceased over a year ago were two key issues brought up with the Minister.
