The choice of a yearbook with a white supremacist Nazi hate symbol or no yearbook at all is a punitive slap in the face to the HTHS class of 2020.
The superintendent's claim that the symbol has no negative connotation is wrong. She calls it a teachable moment but what she is teaching is to sweep hate speech under the rug, and that adults don't correct their problems, they ignore them. The class of 2020 deserves better.
