James Tattersfield started this petition to Huddersfield Town Fans and

On Friday 3rd May, Dean Hoyle announced there was an agreement in place to sell Huddersfield Town Association Football Club and step down as Chairman.

Now would seem the perfect opportunity to see the incredible and inspirational work the Hoyle family have done honoured by naming a stand at the John Smith’s Stadium and celebrating their amazing legacy.

The position the football club is in now compared to 10 years ago when Dean Hoyle took over is astounding. Seeing Huddersfield Town in the Premier League is something realistically many town fans never envisaged in their wildest dreams.

Football is an important part of many people’s lives but football is more than just a game. Football fans and the local community want to be proud of their football club. The way the Hoyle family have transformed Huddersfield Town is nothing short of inspirational. The clubs reputation, locally, nationally and globally is second to none. All Huddersfield Town fans are proud of our amazing club and there is no other Football Club like Huddersfield Town.

It is true that Dean Hoyle was often the man at the front of all the incredible achievements. There is a saying; ‘behind every great man is a great woman’. This is certainly the case for Dean. Dean’s wife, Janet is equally responsible for all of the success. It is not only Janet’s support for Dean which must not be underestimated or overlooked but her life changing work within the community and the Town Foundation.

When Dean took over Huddersfield Town 10 years ago, his two sons Daniel and Josh were too young to be actively involved in the football club. In recent years, they both have also been involved and helped to create something special and unique at Huddersfield Town. Daniel and Josh both embraced the hard work and share the same incredible ethics as their parents and have played a big part in Huddersfield Town’s success. The Hoyle’s unity and togetherness as a family has been a huge factor in this incredible success story.

Dean, Janet, Daniel and Josh have done undertaken such incredible work within the local community and made such a positive impact on thousands and millions of lives. It is impossible to list all of their work as the list in endless and often a lot of the work will go unpublicised. Unable to paint the full picture and do all their work justice, just a small list of the many amazing things the Hoyle’s have done are:

·         Raising hundreds of thousands of pounds raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance via the ‘Keep it up’ campaign.

·         Holiday trips for underprivileged children.

·         Serving over 1 million breakfasts in schools within the local community through the Town Foundation.

·         Donating £1 million to Macmillan cancer support.

·         10 successful Pedal for Pounds campaigns.

·         5 successful Walk for Pounds campaigns.

·         2 Big Sleep Outs raising money for local charities supporting homelessness and families in crisis.

·         Cycling to Wembley to raise money for disadvantaged children to be able to see the play-off final.

·         Making football affordable for the local community.

Even naming a stand after the Hoyle family will not do the Hoyle family legacy justice. It will however be a great way to commemorate their work and teach and inspire future ‘Terriers’ and the community of the extraordinary work the Hoyle’s did during 10 fantastic years.

Please support this petition by signing it, sharing it with friends, family and colleagues. Leave messages of support for the Hoyle family, share memories and how they have had a positive impact on your life.
