DIABETES LIBRE4ALL RALLY
We want the Freestyle Libre to be available based on clinical need at the consultant’s discretion. Remove the age barrier.
Davina Lyon, Grainne Flynn and Liz Murphy invite members of the diabetes community to join us at the
Diabetes Libre4All Rally
Wednesday 18th April 2018
Leinster House, Kildare Street, Dublin 2
11:30am
On January 19th the HSE announced its reimburse scheme for the Freestyle Libre Glucose Monitor for children and young adults aged between ages 4 and 21 years, leaving 17,000 thousand adults with type 1 diabetes denied access to this life changing diabetes device.
We are demonstrating that this is not acceptable.
We ask you to join us on a short walk from Leinster House to the Department of Health Offices, Hawkins Street where we will hand over a petition, signed by over 17,000 people, calling on the HSE and Minister for Health, Simon Harris to make the Freestyle Libre glucose monitor available to all people with diabetes based on clinical need and remove the age barrier.
Event details:
11:30am Meet outside Leinster House
To be joined by our TDs and Senators as well as members of the press
12 noon/12:30pm Walk to Hawkins House to hand over the petition
