It’s the beginning that is always the hardest thing for a writer. I feel blessed in this regard as I very well know from where to begin this update.

I never imagined that my petition would garner such a support. When I started this, I thought to myself that I would be lucky if hundred people support this cause. The warmth of championship that people have shown, has been truly incredible. I have ceased to be the sole petitioner and feel pride that now I am one amongst the thousands. 

In this update, I want to share my spirit with all of you. Since childhood, I have heard so many stories about kashmir. Good, bad and ugly. Each time someone in my family recites any instance from the long gone by days, my heart fills with a new sense of vigour. This energy simply arises from the realisation that nobody will come forward and solve anything. The origin of resolve should be established within and then the help will find its way. 

I would request each of you, fellow petitioners, to take a resolve in turning our petition into our end goal. All you have to do is request your family and friends to be part of the cause. Explain to them why their support is crucial. Just don’t stop there. Share ideas and ways by which we can reach our destination as soon as possible. 

Recently, a movie hit the theatres. Many of us had some kind of expectation from it. I was so excited and filled with emotion that finally our true story will be told. After spending two hours with the narrative I had mixed feelings. On one hand I was appreciative of the fact that finally someone cared to bring our story into mainstream dialogue. On the other hand, I could not understand how many more decades will we take to call a spade, a spade. 

After this bitter sweet experience, my resolve has grown manifold. I have understood in my own way, why real history is vital. History is never a balanced subject. When we try to meddle with it for balancing the narrative, we actually distort and misbalance a lot of it. I believe that we should strive for facts than narrative. 

I will be soon sharing some ideas with all you that I think will help our cause. If any of you have any thoughts and practices that we must follow then please don’t hesitate to share.
