Del Eric Ebersole Proposes Local Control for School Calendars

How about school impact fees?
The Maryland Legislature is considering a bill to give local control of school calendars. The Governor made the decision for schools to start after Labor Day by executive order. Some in the Howard County State Delegation disagree with the decision.
Including Howard County Delegate Eric Ebersole. According to the Baltimore Sun, he said “What he doesn't acknowledge is the potential influence to our education, I feel like the consideration of this bill has been strictly economical”.
He proposes jurisdictions should have local control. He said, “My theme is local control,” Ebersole said. “They [school board members] are closer to the community needs than someone who is in the governor's mansion.”
Many in the State Delegation acknowledge local control is important when it comes to school calendar because it affects educational outcomes. Do they acknowledge the same when it comes to school impact fees or will there be a double standard?
Will they acknowledge that taxpayers have subsided developer profits to the tune of $500 million and increase the fees to $8 per square foot?
