Alfie-james Ruddock was just 5 months old when he passed away of Bronchopneumonia in may 2018, Since Alfie was 12 weeks of age he had a cough which never seemed to improve but instead progressed to further issues such as breathing difficulties, alfie parents were told this was 'viral' , as time proceeded Alfies symptoms only began to get more aggressive resulting in him being rushed to hospital for oxygen however he was discharged on the same night at 1am with a viral once again, this would go on to being back and forth for alfie and his family before alfie sadly lost his battle after being misdiagnosed of bronchitis, When alfie passed away he had a Post-mortem carried out this resulted in alfie being diagnosed with Bronchopneumonia as the cause of death, it also clarified alfie had bronchitis for some weeks and proceeded to clarify if he would have been treated on a course of Antibiotics his life would still be his.

Since Alfies death in 2018 the symptoms are still not commonly known, children as young as the age of 3 weeks are being sent home from hospitals across the united kingdom with discharge sheets stating viral to then be seriously ill until told they have bronchitis.
