On 26 January a young British-born soldier in the IDF, Lian Harush, together with her commander fought off an assailant with a knife who tried to kill her. Her assailant Attallah Mohammad Rayyan, 17, was shot and killed by her commander. There are multiple reports and witness statements from Lian, her commander and others who were present.

Outrageously Tonge says they are all lying: "Some people have claimed this boy tried to stab a soldier but there are no independent witnesses to this. In any case there was no need to fire at him and let him bleed to death. This must be investigated properly but will that happen?"
