We started a petition asking the House Ethics committee to expel those members of Congress who signed on to the lawsuit to throw out millions of votes from the citizens of Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
We wanted 100 signatures. We now have 490 concerned Americans who believe that regardless of party, there should be Democracy above all.
The Congressmen and attorney generals who signed on to, and swore to, the content of that lawsuit decided against protecting the constitutional rights of the citizens of this country. Instead, those 'representatives' chose to swear allegiance to Donald Trump and his baseless claims of voter fraud. They fought against our democratic process.
Members of Congress are federal officials, not state officers. They owe their existence and authority solely to the federal Constitution. The men and women who signed that lawsuit should not be seated as members of our government.
It is written that: “Representatives owe primary allegiance not to the people of a State, but to the people of the Nation…” and, “…each Member of Congress is an officer of the union, deriving his powers and qualifications from the constitution…” Therefore, Representatives and Senators are as much officers of the United States as is the President.
How could those Congressmen, in good faith, sue to throw away the votes of everyone living in Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan? Who were they representing as they wiped their feet on the Constitution?
We have 490 signatures demanding the expulsion of those members of Congress. Let’s get to 1000.
