The issue of math education has continued to be in the news over the past few weeks and it is crucial to keep the spotlight on the topic.. At this point, I am calling on all of you to assist me. I need the help of a professional mathematician, who would be willing and able to work on a committee, so that we can continue further work on the pressing problem of K-6 math education in this province. If you are a (retired) math professor or if you know a (retired) math professor, who would be interested in this issue, please email me as soon as possible. My email is stingers101@live.ca. Thousands of Ontario children are still struggling through school without a firm grasp of the fundamentals; many of them blame themselves, dislike math and face compromised futures as a result of this ongoing crisis.
