A survivor has expressed support for this memorial project. I will begin working on finalizing the concept for the plaque based directly on his and other survivors’ feedback.

I urge supporters to encourage their peers to sign this petition and to consider contacting decision-makers directly on its behalf.

There is no justifiable reason for the continued silence and dismissal of this issue, especially since these survivors have already endured decades of it.

Continuing the interview with Dr. Mary deYoung, I reached back out because I regretted not asking a fourth question—an invitation for her to share her thoughts in general on the matter. This was her response:

"We have to bend the North Fox Island case towards justice. A lot of kids were traumatized; a lot of perpetrators were ignored, enabled, and protected. It’s time to set things right."
