Honor Dashane Santana, Co-name Delancey & Clinton Street (Northside)!

My name Teresa Pedroza, on January 13th 2012 my beautiful 12-year old grand-daughter, Dashane Santana, was struck and killed by a minivan on Delancey Street, one of the most dangerous cross walks in New York City.  Delancey Street is not a street, but a highway, yet there is no crossing guard to protect our children. This situation will only get worse with the newly proposed development in the area.

My family, with overwhelming support from the community, wants to honor Dashane by co-naming the intersection of Delancey and Clinton Street, North side. This is not something I want to do. This is something we MUST do in honor of my beloved grand-daughter Dashane to make sure this tragedy does not happen again.

Community Board 3 is showing opposition to honor my young grand-daughter by co-naming Delancey and Clinton Street-North side. I felt Dashane victimized once again. We need you to help and support by signing this petition to show Community Board 3 that we stand united to make the streets safer for our children by honoring my grand-daughter Dashane Santana.

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Community Board 3.

----------------
Co-naming the Northside of Delancey and Clinton Street.

On January 13th 2012 my beautiful grand daughter was struck and killed by a minivan..On May 9th I presented CB3 with my application to Co-name the intersection of the north side of Delancey and Clinton Street which was met with opposition from one of the board members..Mr Phoung Chung only reason being that Co-naming comes up often.First his reason was she does not meet the guide lines which indeed she does, if he just read them.Once again I felt she was being victimized This is not something I want to do ..This is something I must do in honor of my beloved grand daughter Dashane to make sure this does not happen again. this is one of the most dangerous streets in this community and actually its not a street but a highway..and yet ther is no crossing guard....Which will only get worse with the developement of the nieghborhood...Which has already started with a newly constructed Hotel on Dealancey Street.... Thank You TeresaPedroza
