Honda's step-motherly treatment to its Indian market is no hidden thing. Honda has long history of toiling around with unexciting and uncalled for updates/introduction to Indian two-wheeler market that has grown exponentially and dynamically in the last 5 years. People no longer are infatuated only with mileage, rather opt for comfort, practical features and reliable experience instead of opting for greatest mileage giver. 

One of the segments in the market that has found many takers is - Twin Cylinder motorcycle segment. 

The much talked about parallel/inline twin segment in India is getting populated at great pace and people are more than willing to own an experience any single cylinder cannot offer. 

Honda starts offering parallel from 650CC onwards which gets a bit higher both in cost and mileage hungry Indian consumers not to mention the absymal tank range it comes with. Honda CBR 250RR actually is the perfect bridge bike filling the void created by recent home-grown launches like Dominar 400, Mojo 300 that are single cylinder high-revv motorcycles. A need for a refined, tuned and amazingly engineered parallel twin looks almost enticing and plausible in the price range of INR 3 lakhs. The lowest parallel twin sells for is ~3L-3.5L in India for Ninja Z250/300R. Pricing the CBR 250RR even a bit premium to those bikes won't make a difference to Honda's name known for its bullet-proof reliability and a brand that sells merely by its mention. I rode CBR 250RR in Thailand and it was one of a kind 250cc bike. Second to NONE! 

It is an area that is waiting to see a revolution of a similar kind that CBR 250 brought back in 2011. Honda India's cognizance in this matter is highly required and much requested by enthusiasts all around especially in an ever-growing market like India. If two-wheeler markets of Indonesia/Malaysia can have a product like CBR250RR, India sure can have it as an offering via the CKD at start and local assembly route later, given its gargantuanic production line presence in India.

PS: This petition by no means mocks or belittles the genius that Honda Activa is. It literally changed the way people look at commuting scooters. With all due respect to the legend Activa, this petition simple presents it as a case study and nothing more.
