Very important news for Apartment Associations ( Condominiums ) in the state of Maharashtra.

The Maharashtra Apartment Ownership Act ( Amendment ) 2020 has received assent of the Hon Governor.

The main points are - 

Section 12 A has been added -  The apartment owners may by resolution passed by majority in special meeting of the Association of Apartment Owners change or amend the contents of the Declaration or Deed of Apartments.

Section 16A has been added  - This section allows the owner, association of owners to file a complaint related to violation of act
,rules with the Registrar Cooperative Societies of their area.

Section 16B has been added - This section allows appeal to be made to the Co-operative Court

Thanks to the efforts taken by many activists & NGOs led by Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat who led the movement to seek amendments to the Act.

Thanks to our previous State Housing Minister Shri Ravindra Waikar who played an important role and supported the demands of thousands of apartment owners.
