Add Parramatta Female Factory to the UNESCO World Heritage Australian Convict Sites

The NSW State Government is proposing to sell 30ha of public land in North Parramatta containing sacred indigenous sites of the Darug people, as well as containing the National Heritage Listed Parramatta Female Factory Institutions Precinct
The state government developer arm Urban Growth NSW bought all this land for $1 and is seeking to subdivide this site for sale to allow between 2700-6500 residential units destroying this sacrosanct environment.
Considering the outstanding value of this area to indigenous and colonial history of Australia we believe it requires the highest level of protection and promotion for further generations to experience. As well as allowing the City of Parramatta to develop an internationally renowned cultural destination for our tourism economy.
We hereby petition the respective Ministers to:
1. Advocate for the National Heritage Listed ‘Parramatta Female Factory and Institutions Precinct’ to be immediately added to the existing UNESCO World Heritage Listed Australian 11 Convict Sites. We seek the above ministers to make urgent representations to Australian ICOMOS to seek action into this occurring.
2. Supply funding and support for the creation of an entire precinct for remembrance, arts, culture and tourism befitting the unique indigenous and colonial heritage contained in the entire Fleet Street Heritage Precinct (known also at the Parramatta North Urban Transformation Precinct).
