Recently in Sri Lanka (Specially in year 2017 and 2018)many Elephants were killed and Mainly the Tuskers were killed for Ivory. The Government is dead silent for this issue and need to start counting elephants. All elephants need to be counted and need to put location tracking collar for all the elephants . Also in all areas a special Army force to be appointed for protecting Elephants with required security weapons to act against any attacks which can kill elephants .The Elephant is the main attraction for many tourists who are visiting Sri Lanka . The Government should start protecting them through a close monitoring process .If not it will be come to IUCN Red book .Also government should identify the villagers with harmful weapons as recently many were killed with gun attacks.
