We are almost there!! We are nearing 5000 signatures.

With so many day to day worries for British Columbians our petition has been a bit slow moving. Work. Fuel prices. Covid. Inflation. We are all facing these things together, & together we will get through these challenging times.

A strong Civil Service builds our economic stability, offering living wages, benefits, job security, & organized planning which puts the needs of citizens first. As privatized services offer less & less to British Columbians, it’s time to take back what previous greedy governments have given away. This article about some of the recent cancellations of BC Ferry services makes it evident that privatization of essential services doesn’t work.

Before privatization, employment at BC Ferries  - part of our Provincial transportation & infrastructure system - was a desirable job where an employee could buy a home & feed their family. Now the work is mostly part time on call & offers little if any benefits. Sailings are commonly cancelled due to staff shortages, leaving residents who rely on this essential service stranded. It’s clear our transportation infrastructure system is in serious jeopardy.

When we reach 5000 signatures this petition will be submitted to the Provincial Government representatives. Please consider sharing it on your social media.
Thank you for your support.
