Dear supporters,

Thanks to your voices, stories, and advocacy, we’ve had a major breakthrough.

📣 Australia now has a dedicated payment pathway for people with a terminal illness.
You can view it on the official government site here:
🔗 Financial help if you have a terminal illness – myGov

This is a huge step forward—and you helped make it happen.

What’s Changed?
The federal government has introduced targeted support measures, including a simplified access process for:

Centrelink financial payments
Superannuation early release pathways
Medical evidence requirements tailored to terminal illness
This shows what we already knew: public pressure works. Our campaign—and your signatures—helped push this issue into the national spotlight and onto the government’s desk.

But We’re Not Done.
This is a foundational change, not a finished system. What we still need:

✅ A dedicated, highest-tier Centrelink payment for terminally ill Australians
✅ An upfront $3,000 dignity grant so people can fulfil a dream or ease a final burden
✅ Automatic, tax-free access to superannuation for terminal patients
✅ A guarantee that no one spends their last days battling red tape

We’ve opened the door. Now we need to walk through it.

How You Can Help Now:
Share this petition again—remind people we can change government policy.
Tag your MP or Minister on social media with the myGov link and ask:
“Will you help finish what we started?”
Tell your story. If you or someone you love has been affected, your voice matters.

From Policy to Real People
The fight for dignity in dying isn’t over. But today, we celebrate progress—and it belongs to you.

With deep gratitude,
Sarah Ailish McLoughlin
