"The existence of poverty in Canada is a violation of human rights" (BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, 2014). For the British Columbian/Canadian government, it is both a moral duty to eradicate poverty and a legal obligation under international human rights law (BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, 2014).

"The government of British Columbia [has been persistently] failing to meet its human rights obligations. BC has had one of the highest poverty rates in Canada" (BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, 2014, p.3). The government has failed to look after the most vulnerable people and the Human Rights/Women's Rights violations in BC/Canada have gone from bad to worse.

On the other hand, the government has put unjust financial burden on the taxpayers in Canada to support for decades many thousands of newly taken refugees and has intruded into Saudi Arabian affairs while failing to provide full human rights for women and other people in Canada, which should be the Canadian government’s first concern.

“[The Canadian government] is failing all of us, and those at the bottom are living with the daily consequences.

Is this the Canada we believe in?”(BC Poverty Reduction Coalition, 2014, p.6)

Help me and many other British Columbians/Canadians defend our Human Rights/Women’s Rights by SIGNING THE PETITION, and please pass the petition to others to sign.
