Save Captain Kennedy House

The Issue

Captain Kennedy House is the key structure in the Red River Heritage Parkway. It was built in 1866 as home for one of the most prominent Metis families in Red River settlement.

This distinctive building was closed in 2015 for repairs. Since then, no actual work has been done. The Manitoba government is the owner and has the responsibility for maintenance of historic buildings.

The cheapest and safest time to do repairs Is now. Leaving Captain Kennedy House empty only jeopardizes its future and runs up costs needlessly.

We call upon the government to release the funds necessary to do the repairs ASAP and to re- open this historic building to public use. We invite anyone who supports preservation of heritage sites to support this cause and sign this petition!
