Dear Dr. Motsaoledi
Despite numerous attempts by myself to get some answers from your department, our family is still TORN APART because it is somehow too difficult to release a simple document that says permanent residence permit.
Are you not also a human being?
Don't you have a family?
Can't you show some compassion?
We have submitted all our documents perfectly as the Department of Home Affairs requested and yet 2 years later we are still waiting. We have been married for 7 years now and yet - nothing! This is totally unacceptable!
I don't know what to say to my son and husband anymore?
Is it that you hate us because we are gay?
Is it that you hate us because we are a mixed family where one individual is Chinese?
Why is nothing being done to rectify this situation?
We were told the application has been finalised and the decision has been sent to the South African Embassy in Beijing but when we contacted them they yelled at us and told us that the South African Embassy has nothing to do with permanent residence permits. When we emailed the South African Visa Application Center in Beijing, they told us the application is with the South African Embassy in Beijing and has not been processed at all.
I don't really care who is lying to us because it is painfully obvious that someone is. I care about getting the permanent residence permit for my husband which he is entitled to based on the laws of South Africa.
Why is this so difficult? Do I need to come and tear apart your family before you can see what hurt and pain you are causing?
If you read this message and do nothing, you are not a human being.
If you read this message and do nothing, you have no compassion and no empathy
If you read this letter and do nothing, you are directly responsible for tearing up a family
I beg you. I plead with you. Please PLEASE do something to help us. Please do not ignore our pleas for help. You have the power to unite a family. Please use it!
Yours sincerely
Francois Oosthuizen
