Thank you to everyone that has signed, shared and shown love to this worthy cause.
Lucy Powell MP raised this in parliament today and this was her response this morning to an email requesting this be abolished:
" Thank you for contacting me regarding Owen Haisley and the Government's plans to deport Owen, along with 50 other individuals, to Jamaica. Owen's case is deeply troubling and I entirely object to this Government's belief that he does not have the right to live in the UK. This is his home, he has lived here since he was 4 years old and he should not have to go through this.
I would like to assure you that I am doing everything I can to prevent this deportation. I made representations to The Minister for Immigration yesterday morning and I am waiting for a response on this. I also I put this case to the Home Secretary today during the urgent questions on Windrush.
In addition to my concern for Owen, I have also expressed deep concern about the other individuals set to be deported, and I wholeheartedly agree this Government's 'deport first, appeal later' policy is immoral and deeply distressing.
Best wishes
Lucy "
