Currently it is perfectly legal for people to take pot shots at foxes with air rifles this is not only cruel, air rifles are no where near powerful enough to actually kill a fox outright, it's far more likely that they will injure the animal which could result in infection and potentially a slow painful death or disable it to the point it can no longer hunt it's normal prey and may well resort to attacking domestic animals, scavenging or starve to death. Also it is very dangerous especially in built up areas, stray pellets or badly aimed shots could very easily hit domestic animals or children especially in low light conditions. Please sign this petition and get the home office to make this practice illegal under the 'unnecessary harm or suffering laws' that are already in place.
